Have you ever heard some girls changed their original voices in front of a guy that they like?
I always think that is quite funny and pity, at the same time. Sometimes I was thinking why they need to do that in front of the guy that they like? Is she trying to make good impression with that fake-voices? Or trying to be cute like a new baby born than just being herself?
Oopss sorry if it is too sarcastic.
I just don't understand why they need to do that.
Till I found very interesting (yet so funny and true!) YouTube video by Cristen about the code-switching, which essentially refers to changing up your language, accent, your general way of expressing yourself depending on who you're around. It is a form of verbal assimilation. It is usually in relation to things like ethnicity, culture and sexual orientation as well as gender.
